Here are some pictures I took while
deployed to Japan for the Yama Sakura exercise with I Corps, Camp Itami, Japan,
February 2007. I worked with Japanese Soldiers from the Middle Army,
Japanese Ground Self Defense Force. Almost every day I had the honor of
observing Japanese soldiers practicing Jukendo, a distinct and pure military
art, on the camp tennis court and on rooftops of buildings on the camp.
Jukendo is the military system of bayonet fighting.
